Shield anchors for heavy duty applications
Nail-in anchors are light-weight anchors made up of a nail and a nylon sleeve, commonly used to secure light-weight fixtures – such as shelves, brackets, signs, brick ties and clips – to concrete, brick or stone.
You can order easy-to-install nail-in anchors from T&I Chalmers Engineering in a variety of sizes and lengths. Just remember to specify the material grade and coating when placing your order.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you use nail-in anchors?
- Drill the hole to the correct size and depth. If the hole is too big the anchor won’t grip properly.
- Remove debris from the hole.
- Insert the sleeve and nail through the fixture and into the hole.
- Hammer the end of the nail into the hole.
How do you size nail-in anchors?
Nail-in anchors are sized by both their thread size and their anchor length. For example, if you needed a nail-in anchor with thread size of M8 and anchor length of 60mm, you would order a M8x60 nail-in anchor.
What is the pull-out load for nail-in anchors?
Nail-in anchors are not designed for high pull out loads. For heavy duty applications, consider using some of our other anchors.
